Portfolio Benchmarks

The use of benchmarks is currently the subject of much discussion. The problem with using these is the difficulty of comparing like with like, but we use the Private Investor Indices produced by APCIMS (The Association of Private Client Investment managers and Stockbrokers) in addition to the more traditional FTSE-based indices. These private investor indices, produced by FTSE-International in conjunction with APCIMS, are designed to give private investors a benchmark against which to measure the performance of their own Portfolios and appear on all Portfolio Valuations. At present, these Indices are composed of:
