Location
Instructions for driving to the Precincts from the A1. Come up/down the A1 and take the signed exit to ‘The Historic City of Peterborough’ on the A1139. If coming from the south, come off on the slip road (Jct 17) and then keep in the right-hand lane off the slip road. Take the right fork on to the A1139 towards Peterborough City Centre. If coming from the north, come up the slip road and take the second exit onto the A605, when you reach the A1 roundabout, take the third exit to City centre on the Parkway. Ignore early signs for the City Centre and continue until the Exit No. 5. Take the slip road down to a roundabout and left along Boongate (see map) towards City Centre. Follow ‘Boongate’ for 100yds to the next roundabout and take the second exit on the ‘New Road’. After 100 yds to T-junction, turn left into ‘Northminster’ and immediately right into ‘City Road’. After 100yds turn left into ‘Wheel Yard’, and on into the Precincts. Instructions for coming from the A15 (North). Coming in down the A15, turn left up onto the Parkway system (A47). Continue until Exit No. 5. Take the slip road down to a roundabout and turn right under the Parkway and along Boongate (see map) and instructions above. Instructions for pedestrians coming by train. Turn right out of the station and follow the road round hotel garden, to the left. Just before the entrance to multi-storey car park (on the right) and before the main road (Bourges Boulevard) turn right following the walkway signs for the Cathedral. Pass the car park and follow the short underpass under the main road. Follow the steps up on the left, turn left at the top and right into ‘Cowgate’. Follow signs to the Cathedral coming into Cathedral Square. Facing the Cathedral, go through the Norman Arch into the Precincts.
